Bastard Sword Good Ds3
While this weapon has a decent damage output, with a d in both strength and dexterity, it's about as middle of the road as it gets with weapons in dark souls 3. I believe it actually does the exact same damage as the claymore, people just generally like the claymore moveset better, and your can get it for free before you can buy the bastard sword. A bastar d sword can trade with the biggest of toys and crank it out with low weight while the claymore has versatility of thrust and standard in a reliable moveset. Using the weapon art will provide you with a flat +80 magic ar, regardless of the weapon's level.

As a melee preference with str, dex, & luck, i always use the hollowslayers. Because of the poise values being adjusted across the board;
